Hello Folks

I hope you are all keeping well and keeping warm! It was good to see 13 GRES members take part in the Annual Quiz at the Rose & Crown, Shorne on Thursday 23 January, including our quiz master Matt Hills. A good time was had by all and congratulations to Robin, Heather and Howard who won. Thanks go to Robin and Heather Miall who provided prizes and Matt for compiling the questions.

We have some changes to our scheduled GRES meetings plus details of the ZOOM meeting coming up in February, as follows:

Tuesday 4th Feb 2025 – Unfortunately, Tony Riley has damaged his knee so he’s unable to join us to present his talk. Instead, following the interest in the first part at our meeting on 7 January, we present “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines (part 2)” – a film show to entertain and amaze… at our usual venue of the Emmanuel Church Hall, 55 Windmill Street, Gravesend (from 7.45pm)

Wednesday 12th Feb 2025– “Denmark to Australia by train” – ZOOM meeting hosted by Lutterworth Railway Society/SEERS/GRES at 7.25pm (for a prompt start at 7.30pm). As this is being brought to us from Australia, it promises to be something special and not to be missed!

TLRS is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting:

Topic: LRS’s Denmark to Australia by Train Zoom Meeting
Time: Feb 12, 2025 07:30pm London

Thursday 20th – Hopefully, Tony Riley will have recovered and be able to present “The Solent Railway (part 3)”. As usual this will take place at our usual venue of the Emmanuel Church Hall, 55 Windmill Street, Gravesend (from 7.45pm). “It’s time for a PEP talk” has been postponed until later in the year.
