The Gravesend Railway Enthusiasts Society (GRES) cordially invite you to Northfleet School for Girls, Hall Road, Northfleet, DA11 8AQ
on Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd November.
Pictured with Mayor Cllr Daniel Adewale King in Autumn 2023, when she became GRES’s first female chair, GRES Chair Ella Marcar said:
“There will be 18 railway layouts from small N Gauge to large Gauge 1; and a few that children can drive – our children’s layout Windmill Hill, a small visiting layout called Japan in bloom and another small visiting layout inspired by Thomas the Tank Engine’s Welsh cousins and operated by the East Grinstead Model Railway Club Juniors.”
Do you know how to entertain children with several wooden contraptions and ball bearings? There’s only one way to find out!
We will also have 15 trade stands offering – Model trains, Model buses, Small tools, Books, Kits and an array of other items – all of which could become Christmas presents…
Ella added:
“There are four societies joining us including stands from the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Railway and the Southern Electric Group. Plus we have someone demonstrating kit building, with an opportunity for children to ‘have a go’ and some colouring-in as well as someone who may be able to fix your engine if it does not work anymore”.
The school canteen will be serving cooked breakfast and other pastry items, as well as hot lunches and refreshments.
“On Sunday you will have the choice of turkey, gammon or vegetarian roast dinner”
So, don’t miss out.
The Model Railway Show will be open on Saturday between 10am – 5pm and on Sunday between 10am – 4pm.
Entrance to the Gravesend Model Railway Show is £5 and accompanied children under 16 are free.
